Parasol Shoppe
Miss H. Talmon moved into Andrew Jackson’s former home in late 1821. Prior to that, she was selling parasols out of a location “opposite the mayor’s dwelling.” In August 1821, the mayor of Pensacola was George Bowie, a Jackson-appointed official. The exact location of his home is hard to find, but it was likely in the vicinity of the other government buildings and the public square.
