In the freedom of the Creative Writing Club, students will be able to work independently on their own individual, self-directed writing. By sharing this work with each other, they will learn to give and receive positive, constructive feedback and see the value of this process as they learn to rewrite and edit. We will also explore the basic elements of writing, such as plot, character, setting and genre, and immediately apply these to their work-in-progress. Teenage writers are often shy and keep their stories to themselves. The Creative Writing Club will be a place for them to safely learn to interact with other writers, helping them to build their general and creative confidence.
