Anastasia Vourka Ftaka began her musical education in Greece, where she completed both the Flute Diploma and Harmony Diploma with the highest distinction, before earning her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at Conservatorium Maastricht under Philippe Benoit and Valerie Debaele. During her studies, she participated in numerous chamber and orchestral projects gaining experience that would shape her performance and teaching career.
She has appeared as a soloist with the Camerata Junior of Athens and the City Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki, won second prize at the Panhellenic Flute Competition “Urs Ruttimann”, and performed at several festivals including the 2 nd International Classic Music Festival Maastricht, the SKG Festival in Thessaloniki, the Night of Classical and the Backstage Festival in Maastricht. In 2025, she released her first album, Nimbus, featuring works by Poulenc, Liebermann, and Martin.
Since 2022, Anastasia Vourka Ftaka has been active as a flute teacher, music educator, and conductor/coach of several wind bands and small chamber music ensembles in Limburg, the Netherlands. Her versatile teaching, combines instrumental training with ensemble development for students of varying levels and backgrounds. Moreover, in 2025, she began leading the Music Club at UWC Maastricht, introducing children aged 3-6 to music through movement, listening, and play-based activities in an international environment.
