The Middleton Vestment, 15th century embroidery on modern fabric

The 15th century embroidery was given to the Bar Convent by the Catholic Middleton family of Ilkley, Yorkshire. It was later remounted onto modern green fabric.

The family were related to B. Robert Middleton SJ, who was executed in 1601.
