VETERINARY ORTHOPAEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY

Presentation and description for students participating in this discipline: the notions about veterinary orthopedics and traumatology at an updated level of knowledge and approaches, to allow them to acquire in-depth the theoretical and clinical aspects of trauma, fracture biomechanics, fracture healing process or diagnosis and fractures treatments, spine disorders and osteorticular diseases in animals. Practical elements conducted within hours of practical labs or appropriate in clinical internship on clinical cases presented with osteoarticular disorders for orthopedic treatment.

Biotechniques in Reproduction
Course coordinator: Assoc Prof. Mihai Cenariu
This subject addresses both theoretically, but especially practically, the following topics:
· semen collection from domestic and, if available, wild animals;
· semen analysis using classical and computer assisted techniques (CASA) as well as flow cytometry;
· artificial insemination in domestic animals;
· oocyte collection and maturation for in vitro fertilization;
· oocyte and embryo micromanipulation;
Various aspects regarding heat induction and synchronization, embryo transfer, embryo and semen sexing in vitro fertilization, embryonic stem cells collection will also be presented.
