Students will create a skit described in Lesson 8. They will be placed in groups and assigned a settlement. They must each take on the role of an early settler in that colony. In the presentation, they must answer the following questions: What was your settlement? What push and pull factors influenced the development of your settlement? What was your settlement like?
Students will answer the compelling question: Why did different colonial regions develop in North America? Students should be able to explain how the Southern, New England, and Middle Colonies were different including why they were settled initially and how they were run.
