As evidence of my ability to create classes that promote students to think critically and work together to solve problems, I present the lesson plan for a STEM activity done in class. For this class, students were divided into 3 groups and handed a folder with all the materials they could use to complete the activity. The folder included the instructions for the activity. Students had to work together to answer questions about hurricane resistant homes, draw their very own hurricane resistant home, and then use the materials given to design their hurricane resistant home. Their creations were put to the test using a fan on different settings to simulate category 1,2, and 3 hurricanes.
