Dear UPHS Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. We are excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to meeting all the new students who have joined the Panda Family. As summer is winding down, we want to share a few items regarding the upcoming school year.

The UPHS Office reopens at 8:00 am on Monday, August 7. 

Important Start of School Dates:

August 8 - Panda Buddies Day - All New Students attend 9:00am - 12:15pm

August 9 - Start of UPHS Classes @8:30am & Picture Day

August 10 - Back-to-School Night - 5:00pm - 7:00pm (Tacos Galacticos - PSO Dinner Fundraiser)

August 10 - Senior Shuffle Fundraiser & Senior Class Parent Meeting

August 11 - Senior Sunrise Picture & Light Breakfast 7:00am - Meet in Yokut 7 

August 14 - COS Classes Start

August 15 - PSO Meeting - 6:00pm in Yokut 8 - All parents welcome

Panda Buddies Day - On August 8 - 9:00am-12:15pm, All students who are new to UPHS will attend the Panda Buddy Orientation Day. This tradition gives all students the opportunity to make friends, meet the teachers, find all the UPHS classrooms, and learn the ins-and-outs of the COS campus.

First Day of School - UPHS starts on August 9 @8:30am. Students will report to their Homeroom classroom on campus. Students will receive an email stating their Homeroom teacher and room number by August 8. Students will receive their UPHS class schedule during Homeroom on August 9, if they can give/show their Homeroom teacher the confirmation email stating their family has completed the online Start of School Forms. Families, please watch for an email to complete the required online forms. Students new to UPHS already completed these forms when they enrolled and will automatically receive their class schedule on August 9. If you have questions, please contact Ms. Araceli or Mrs. Ceja in The UPHS Office.

PowerSchool & Start of School Forms - We will be utilizing PowerSchool for returning parents and students to review and complete the start of school forms. Parents/Guardians, and students will fill out/acknowledge these forms online and receive an email receipt showing these forms have been submitted. Families no longer have to print, sign, and return hard copies of the start of school forms.

Picture Day - On August 9, students will take their school picture and receive their UPHS Student ID Card. The Picture Order Form will be emailed to all families and will also be available in the school office.

Panda Orientation - For the first three days (August 9-11), students will report to their Homeroom class and will rotate with their Homeroom through seminars taught by UPHS teachers. This will provide time for UPHS students to get to know their Homeroom teacher, make some friends, and learn about various expectations and procedures relevant to the 2023-2024 school year. Students will also learn how to access the Google suite applications needed for their UPHS classes. These three days give students time to learn about life at UPHS and what it means to be a part of the PANDA FAMILY!

Start of Academic Instruction - Students will use their UPHS Class Schedule starting Monday, August 14. Students will follow the UPHS Bell Schedule for each of their classes. Students will also receive a copy of their PowerSchool login information on August 9. The parent/guardian PowerSchool login information will be mailed. The UPHS faculty and staff understand high school is a new world, and it will take time for students to master all the processes used at UPHS. Please do not stress. The start of school is busy and confusing at times, rest assured that everyone at UPHS will actively help students successfully make this transition.

Queridas familias de UPHS,

Bienvenidos al año escolar 2023-2024. Estamos entusiasmados con el próximo año escolar y esperamos conocer a todos los nuevos estudiantes que se han unido a la Familia Panda. A medida que el verano está llegando a su fin, queremos compartir algunos artículos sobre el próximo año escolar.

La oficina de UPHS reabre a las 8:00 am el lunes 7 de agosto. 

Fechas Importantes de Inicio de Clases:

8 de agosto - Día de Panda Buddies - Todos los estudiantes nuevos asisten de 9:00 am a 12:15 pm.

9 de agosto - Inicio de Clases de UPHS a las 8:30 am y Día de Retrato

10 de agosto - Noche de Regreso a Clases - 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm (Tacos Galácticos - Cena de recaudación de fondos para PSO)

10 de agosto - Recaudación de fondos para Senior Shuffle y reunión de padres de estudiantes de último año.

11 de agosto - Retrato de Senior Sunrise y  Desayuno Ligero 7:00 am - Salon de Reunion Yokut 7

14 de agosto - Inicio de clases de COS

15 de agosto - Junta de PSO - 6:00 p.m. en salon Yokut 8 - Todos los padres son bienvenidos

Día de Panda Buddies: el 8 de agosto, de 9:00 am a 12:15 pm, todos los estudiantes nuevos en UPHS asistirán a día de Panda Buddies. Esta tradición brinda a todos los estudiantes la oportunidad de hacer amigos, conocer a los maestros, encontrar todos los salones de UPHS y aprender los detalles del campus de COS.

Primer Día de Clases - UPHS comienza el 9 de agosto a las 8:30 am. Estudiantes se reportarán a su salón de Homeroom. Estudiantes recibirán un correo electrónico indicando su maestro de Homeroom y el número de salón antes del 8 de agosto. 1Estudiantes recibirán su horario de clases de UPHS durante Homeroom el 9 de agosto, si le muestran a su maestro de Homeroom el correo electrónico de confirmación que indica que su familia ha completado los Formularios de Inicio de Clases en línea. Familias, esperen un correo electrónico para completar los formularios en línea requeridos. Estudiantes nuevos a UPHS ya completaron estos formularios cuando se inscribieron y recibirán automáticamente su horario de clases el 9 de agosto. Si tiene preguntas, comuníquese con la Sra. Araceli o la Sra. Ceja en la oficina de UPHS.

PowerSchool y Formularios de Inicio de Clases - utilizaremos PowerSchool para que los padres y estudiantes de regreso revisen y completen los formularios de inicio de clases. Padres/tutores completarán estos formularios en línea y recibirán un recibo por correo electrónico que demuestra que se enviaron estos formularios. Las familias ya no tienen que imprimir, firmar y devolver copias de los formularios de inicio de clases.

Día de Retrato - el 9 de agosto, los estudiantes se tomarán su retrato y recibirán su tarjeta de identificación de estudiante de UPHS. El formulario de pedido de fotografías se enviará por correo electrónico a todas las familias y también estará disponible en la oficina de la escuela.

Orientación de Panda - durante los primeros tres días (del 9 al 11 de agosto), los estudiantes se reportarán a su salón de Homeroom y rotarán con su salón de Homeroom a través de seminarios impartidos por maestros de UPHS. Esto brindará tiempo para que los estudiantes de UPHS conozcan a su maestro de Homerooml, hagan algunos amigos y aprendan sobre varias expectativas y procedimientos relevantes para el año escolar 2023-2024. Estudiantes también aprenderán cómo acceder a las aplicaciones de la suite de Google necesarias para sus clases de UPHS. ¡Estos tres días les da a los estudiantes tiempo para aprender sobre la vida en UPHS y lo que significa ser parte de la FAMILIA PANDA!

Comienzo de la Instrucción Académica - estudiantes seguirán su horario de clases de UPHS a partir del lunes 14 de agosto. Estudiantes seguirán el horario de campana de UPHS para cada una de sus clases. Estudiantes también recibirán un correo electrónico con su información de inicio de sesión de PowerSchool antes del 9 de agosto. La información de inicio de sesión de PowerSchool también se enviará por correo a todos los padres/tutores. La facultad y el personal entienden que la escuela secundaria es un mundo nuevo y que los estudiantes tardarán en dominar todos los procesos necesarios para tener éxito en UPHS. No se preocupe por esto porque la facultad y el personal ayudarán activamente a los estudiantes con esta transición.
