October 24, 2024 - Typhoon Kristine hit many parts of Luzon on this day and there was heavy landfall and flooding in several areas. Thankfully, I'm safe and warm so I just made the most of my time by working and finishing the draft of my design blueprint. Even if the weather was making me lazy, I fought the urge and continued working on my Special Project to keep my progress going even little by little.
I finished the draft the following day at around 1AM and I immediately emailed it along with my project proposal to my content expert, Dr. Tayzon. I humbly asked, and I'm currently waiting for her comments and suggestions before I officially start with the development phase, although I already have some plans in mind with how I'm going to develop the instructional materials. I want to consult her regarding my design blueprint first before I begin with the development so I could save time in terms of making necessary initial revisions.
I believe in myself that I meticulously planned my design outline and carefully thought of the learning activities and assessments to include, but I recognize and value Dr. Tayzon's knowledge and expertise in early childhood education and I know that more heads are better than one. I also acknowledge that I'm still continuously learning and I don't know everything there is, but I know in myself that I'm doing my best to apply everything that I have learned so far from the BES program.
With this, the realization of lifelong learning sinks in -- we are all continuously learning and we are all learners of life. Recognizing and acknowledging the fact that I don't know everything is something that I value within me because it mentally helps me and pushes me to be more eager to learn; to ground myself and to show that I am teachable. I know I still have a lot to improve on in terms of my craft and knowledge in instructional design, but it also helps that I recognize my skills and capabilities to motivate myself to finish my Special Project the best way I can. Of course, as an Iskolar ng Bayan, I also want to give my best for my community and for the institution that trusted me. 🧡
