Learn about New Zealand
New Zealand is a welcoming and diverse country whose history includes the immigration of Maori, Europeans, Pacific Islanders and Asians. The rich mix of cultures, combined with geologically fascinating landscapes and unique flora and fauna, make New Zealand an exciting country to explore
Let's talk about its history
The history of New Zealand (Aotearoa) dates back approximately 700 years to when it was discovered and settled by Polynesians, who developed a distinct Maori Culture. Like other Pacific cultures, Māori society was centred on kinship links and connection with the land but, unlike them, it was adapted to a cool, temperate environment rather than a warm, tropical one.
What is your economy like?
New Zealand's economy is based on agriculture and services such as tourism, retail, and wholesale trade. The agricultural sector is the largest industry in the country, with pastoral farming and horticulture being the most important categories.
New Zealand has a unique and dynamic culture. Moreover, the culture of the indigenous Maori people influences the language, art and even New Zealanders. Specifically, this country is located in the South Pacific and their love of the outdoors, sports and the arts makes them a unique people.
