Ang KWF Diksiyonáryo ng Wíkang Filipíno ay hango sa database ng Diksiyonaryo ng Wikang Filipíno na unang nalathala noong 1989. Ito ang kauna-unahang monolingguwal na diksiyonaryo ng wikang Filipino na binubuo ng 31,245 salitang pasok na inihanda ng Linangan ng mga Wika sa Pilipinas (dating Surian ng Wikang Pambansa). Ang ikalawang edisyon na may 34,798 salitang pasok ay ang lathala sa ika-100 taon ng pagdiriwang ng kalayaan ng Pilipinas o Sentinyal na Edisyon, gaya ng popular na tawag dito. Noong 2011, inilathala ang ikatlong edisyon na may kabuoang 33,834 salita. Gayumpaman, upang maisapanahon at maisaalang-alang ang mga puna at mungkahi ng maraming nagmamalasakit sa wikang Filipíno, muli itong nirepaso, isinaayos, at pinalawak ang mga impormasyon tungkol sa mga salitang lahok, kabilang na ang anyo ng salita na umaayon sa mga tuntunin at pagbabago sa Ortograpiyang Pambansa, mga impormasyong panggramatika, varyant, pinagmulan ng salita, larang, kahulugan ng salita, at iba pa.

Tagalog English Dictionary


Based on Dr. Teresita V. Ramos’ Tagalog Dictionary published by the University of Hawaii Press, 1971, the Tagalog Online Dictionary is available in small, medium, and large. The Tagalog root words are the main entries with the English definition and active/passive forms of Tagalog verbs provided. Synonyms and variations of the Tagalog terms are also provided (under L2 definition), along with the language origin (entered under Notes) of the words — e.g., Spanish, Malay, Chinese, Sanskrit.
