Brief History of the Library

The University of Nueva Caceres Library is one of the oldest buildings in the university. It has contributed much through its collection, services and facilities to teaching, learning and research. The books in the library are classified according to standard classification. The Main Library serves the College of Business and Accountancy, College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, Computer Studies and College of Nursing until 2012.

In 2012, the Main library became the focus of Vice President for Administration Dr. Eduardo H. Sison’s project “Modernizing the Library.” By 2013, the library’s modernization included improvement of facilities, services, collection and staffing which addressed the recommendations of CHED, PACUCOA and PRC. It was in the same year that the library of the College of Law, Graduate School, Engineering and Architecture, High School and Elementary were housed in one building, the newly renovated (Main Library) University library. On April 11, 2014 these facilities were blessed to serve the academe of the whole institution. The University Library surpassed the many accreditations by CHED, PACUCOA and PRC even the level 3 PACUCOA accreditation of CBA with a rating of 4.0 and above.
