For the assignment in this learning module, you will be attending an event hosted by any one of the student organizations under the College of Engineering. Attendance documentation can include but is not limited to a picture of yourself at the event in-person (a.k.a. a ‘selfie’), a group picture of you and your friends at an event, a screenshot of yourself in the zoom grid of a virtual event, a discord meeting showing the date, time, and your username highlighted, possibilities are endless. Keep in mind, acceptable attendance documentation should clearly depict the event you are attending such that it is easily identifiable (i.e. meeting slides, event poster, event host in the zoom grid, you and a current member in a picture together, date and time visible in the screenshot etc.), and it should include personally identifiable information unique to you (i.e. your face at an in-person event, your UIC iCard in view of the laptop screen for events without an attendee list, your name/username clearly marked in the Discord meeting, etc.). Be mindful of the event host. There are events where the engineering student orgs are present and participating, but they are not the organizer or event host. These types of events do not satisfy the assignment requirement. Examples of events NOT good for this assignment include (but are not limited to) the Involvement Fair, any department guest lecturer not invited by a student organization, events from the cultural centers, or student organizations that are not from the College of Engineering.
