Florida 4-H is a Partner with the 4-H Military Partnership Grant Program. The Military 4-H Club program is a partnership of National 4-H Headquarters; U.S. Department of Agriculture; U. S. Army Child and Youth Services (CYS); U.S. Air Force Family Member Programs (FMP); and U.S. Navy Child and Youth Programs (CYP) to establish 4-H Clubs on ACTIVE Army, Air Force, and Navy installations (sites).
As a result of 4-H partnering with Army, Air Force and Navy, Military Youth are able to have some consistency when they move worldwide because clubs have become an integral programming component for Army, Air Force and Navy school-age youth programs.
4-H clubs offer opportunities for military youth to explore new interests and gain skills in leadership, decision making, technology, science, environmental stewardship, and community service. In addition to learning-by-doing in their club, military youth have an opportunity to participate with other 4-H youth in county and state programs.
Florida 4-H also serves as the Military Liaison for European Air Bases and Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. All of these programs have a focus on positive youth development through providing opportunities for youth to engage in intentional learning experiences. 4-H educators partner with military staff to provide the training and resources needed to succeed in equipping the next generation of leaders who are growing up in military programs.
