Joy can be seen all around,

From the thought of a new born baby

To a beautiful bride on her wedding day.

Everyone looks to find this joy in their own life,

Whether it’s with family and friends,

Or a simple day spent alone.

What most people don’t realize is that joy is a mindset

And way of life,

Not a simple emotion

That sways from day to day.

This joy is contagious if people

Live with more compassion,

Give with more grace,

And love with more patience.

But what if we all looked for joy a little more?

What kind of world would we live in then?

A world where everyone looked at their cup

Half full instead of half empty.

A world where the measure of life is in true joy,

Instead of mere moments of happiness.

If people pay attention to the small things,

The true things that bring them joy,

We may realize that it’s already all around.

Instead of waiting for the weekend,

Waiting for summer,

Waiting for love and

Waiting for life to “begin”,

We need to realize that joy can be obtained if

We simply enjoy the moments that we have been placed in.

So I challenge us to look for joy in all we do

And then we’ll see that it is already there in each and every moment.
