Artist Statement - Kaili Carmen

I chose to do the piece "The Scream" by Edvard Munch. His piece has is full of dull colors, but a lot of little vibrant colors are included and they are what bring the piece together. After studying the piece, I decided to make another version of it.

This other version is more cheerful and has an abundance of bright colors to add to the happiness. I decided to do these two shoes differently because it shows how things can be different if you look at it from another perspective.

Like life, we have many good and bad outcomes in our lives, but if you look at them from another angle, they are all wins."
