Getting Started in the Major

Spanish Studies B.A. for Frosh

Frosh who intend to pursue this major should do the following things prior to the beginning of fall term...

Review information on the Language and Applied Linguistics website to determine whether you need language placement.
Review the General Catalog, especially the sample academic plans and major qualification policy.

...and should take these courses their first term:

LING 50: Introduction to Linguistics
SPAN 1: First Year Spanish (not required to begin first quarter but sequence should be started the first year), or SPHS 4: Spanish for Heritage Speakers (not required to begin first quarter but sequence should be started at the beginning of the second year).
