After your final examination, you will need to make any required revisions as directed by your examining committee. GPS's minimum thesis formatting requirements are the established the minimum academic criteria for a master's and doctoral thesis. The Department of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation does not have any specific requirements as it follows the minimum requirements of GPS.
The Graduate Program Office will submit the Program Completion/Thesis Approval form to GPS soon after the defense date so that no further registration is required for future terms.
Title Page
Choose the title page indicating your specialization. Your degree should be indicated as Master of Arts in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation, Master of Arts in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation - Recreation and Leisure Studies, Master of Science in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation or Doctor of Philosophy in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation.
Your thesis must be submitted within six months of the day of the final oral examination. If the thesis is not submitted to GPS within the six month time limit, the candidate will be considered to have withdrawn from the program. After this time, the candidate will need to re-apply to the program, be re-admitted and pay the required fees for the re-application and registration fees.
Once your thesis has been submitted in Thesis Deposit, staff in GPS will review your electronic thesis to make sure it meets the minimum required specifications. If not approved:
an email from GPS will be sent to the email address when registering with Thesis Deposit, notifying you that your electronic thesis has been rejected. You will be required to make any modifications instructors by GPS, log back into Thesis Deposit and re-submit.
you must continue to check your email after each submission in case there are any additional corrections required. Your submission is not complete and you will not meet the deadline until your thesis is approved by GPS (it may be necessary to check your spam/junk folder). Even though you have submitted your thesis prior to the deadline, revisions and re-submissions must be made and approved within the specified deadline, i.e., prior to 4:00 p.m.
Printing of Thesis
Once your thesis has been accepted by GPS you can have your thesis printed and bound.
Printing and binding can be done through Burke Group on campus (B31 Cameron Library). Please use the Thesis Binding Requisition form and contact them regarding how to submit your thesis and times lines for printing (780) 492-9637.
