Ethics and Integrity Training Requirement

Ethics and Academic Integrity Training is mandatory for all newly admitted University of Alberta Graduate Students. All graduate students are required to complete a minimum of eight hours of ethics training in order to graduate. It is recommended that students try to complete the requirements within the first year.

NEW FOR STUDENTS ADMITTED IN FALL 2021 AND LATER

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 - All incoming graduate students, for Fall 2022 and onwards, will be automatically registered in INT D 710 (and INT D 720 for PhD students) by FGSR.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research is pleased to announce an exciting new initiative. Beginning in Fall 2021, the NEW Ethics and Academic Citizenship Requirement will replace the current Academic Integrity and Ethics Training Requirement. The new Ethics and Academic Citizenship Requirement will consist of two zero-credit, self-paced online courses: INT D 710: Ethics and Academic Citizenship (for both master’s and doctoral students) and INT D 720: Advanced Ethics and Academic Citizenship (for doctoral students). You can register in the above courses through BearTracks.

No confirmation of course completion is required to be provided to the Graduate Programs Office as these will show on your University of Alberta transcripts.

Submit the signed form to the Graduate Programs Office immediately upon completion of the course to be kept on file.
