Year(s) of Eligibility: Nominee must be in a second year of a graduate degree program

Open to Canadian citizens.
Open to permanent residents.
Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.
Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
Open to applicants in masters programs.
Selection will be based on academic standing
Selection Criterion: The nominee may not hold this award concurrently with an award or bursary with a value of $13,000 or greater
Preference Criterion: Preference will be given to a nominee who is involved in volunteer activities both on and off campus
Must be engaged in Full Time study
GPA will be calculated over the most recent 15 units (minimum) of course weight.
This award is competitive amongst other UofA graduate departments. Interested candidates will be selected by Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation award selection committee and forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR); only one candidate can be selected for each award. FGSR's Graduate Scholarship Committee Chair then makes the final selection. Winner's receive a letter directly from the FGSR; refusals are sent to the KSR Graduate Program Office who in turn will notify the applicant.
