Nominee must exemplify the qualities and values of Ewen Nelson. The qualities and values of Ewen Nelson were: responsible, patient, persistent, team player, unselfish, challenged adversity, composed under pressure, strong work ethic, fine attention to detail, great sense of humor. Ewen valued mutual respect, encouraged personal growth and opportunities, and felt it was important to get involved

GPA will be calculated over the most recent 15 units (minimum) of course weight. First-class academic standing (equivalent to a grade point average of 3.5 or greater on the University of Alberta grading scale) is required.
This award is specific to the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation; only FKSR students are considered for these awards. An eligible candidate(s) will be ranked and selected by FKSR's award selection committee and forwarded to the FGSR. FGSR will send the official award offer to the recipient. Applicants not recommended at FKSR's internal adjudication level will be notified in writing by the Graduate Programs Office.
