Testimonials from past participants

“Being able to connect with individuals that I normally would never meet and gain a broader perspective and learning from their experiences. As much as we are "one University" we have so many unique areas with differing challenges and obstacles that seeing what these might be and how they have been approached offers some great insight into growing my own team and area.”

— Program Mentee (2022)

“I really enjoyed hearing my mentor’s perspective on things. It was really fantastic to speak with someone in a totally different area of the organization. [My mentor] was able to give me really practical and applicable tools that I could immediately apply to my work. It was also great talking to someone that I don't report to about their thoughts and their journey. I felt like I could be more open about questions and my experience than I can be with my supervisor. The program was really fantastic and I really enjoyed it.”

— Program Mentee (2022)

“I enjoyed overcoming the bridge in the hierarchy of "They're management and I am not". When I met with my mentor, it was clear that we were both 'just people'. We were both still learning in our respective roles and it really helped in facilitating a safe place to be open about what we're doing well and/or what we've struggled with.”

— Program Mentee (2022)

“I enjoyed the mutual learning and reflecting. As I thought of how to support my mentee, I found myself reflecting on my own lessons learned, what I now do differently and how I've grown. I enjoyed learning about a person from a different generation, what issues they face, and how they problem solve. It was a very interesting and rewarding experience.”

Program Mentor (2022)

“What I enjoyed the most about the mentorship program was the ability to connect and discuss issues, desired areas of growth and discussion in a safe environment.”
