F&O's community garden is back!

Michelle Hoyle and Cathy Hurst have been doing some guerilla gardening next to Lister for the past three summers and have now been joined by Parking Services, too!

This year, they've been growing all kinds of herbs and veggies, so be sure to drop by!

Staff are welcome to pick veggies and herbs to take home (or just to make a cup of afternoon tea!).

Check out the planters in front of Lister Centre!

Have you heard about the Community Assistance Team?

Protective Services recently launched their new Community Assistance Team (CAT) to target three main areas within our campus community:

  1. Community engagement and response: Engagement with the university community with a problem-solving lens to address the root causes of crime and disorder on our campuses

  2. Mental Health: Training to effectively identify, de-escalate and assist those undergoing mental health crises and help them find appropriate resources

  3. Social assistance: Connecting those in crisis (typically housing and substance use) with the best resources and assistance available

Some of the CAT's partnerships include Access Network, Community Managed Alcohol Programs (CMAP), Human Engagement and Liaison Partnership (HELP), Love Good Food Box, Bent Arrow, Herb Jamieson, the City of Edmonton's transit ticket program, and an evolving city program aimed providing key identification needed for social assistance.

How do I post my pics?

This is a low-budget operation, so there's no fancy apps, just a plain ol' Google drive. Simply open the drive and upload your image.

Be sure to include the date and event name!
