Course Description & Objectives

The purpose of the research/capping exercise is to provide for the in-depth exploration of a particularissue or topic related to the students' professional lives.
The specific objectives of the course are:
  1. The student will prepare a 5000-6000 word paper that:
    • describes a problem/issue using scholarly literature and research as well as personal context;
    • synthesizes and critically analyzes related scholarly literature and research; and
    • identifies practical and/or theoretical significance of addressing the issue
  2. The student will provide constructive peer feedback throughout the course on multiple writing exercises and draft papers.
  3. The student will present a concise overview of the capping paper in person (or via digital presentation in consultation with the instructor) 

This course will guide you through the process of developing a capping paper. It is assumed that you have discussed your ideas with your academic advisor and have approval for the selected topic. The course will involve numerous writing activities followed by peer feedback and one-on-one consultation with the course instructor.
It is the student’s responsibility to properly check APA 7th edition.
