We offered over 50 courses with embedded CSL placements from Spring 2024 - Winter 2025. Browse through the student stories to get a peek into all the unique learning opportunities that took place.
Our Non-Profit Board Internship Program (NPBI) pairs students with a board of a local non-profit organization. From film festivals to cross-country skiing events, students collaborate with local non-profits to build skills in governance and leadership.
HUM 101 brings together a diverse group of adult learners who all share a passion for lifelong learning. The program offers multiple courses each year that emphasize critical thinking in everyday life.
Whether students were developing educational programs, collecting data, developing games, or designing social media content, CSL students used their skills and knowledge in unique ways to help community organizations. See a few highlights below and take some time to read through all the stories from the 2024-2025 academic year.
"The biggest takeaway was to see the power and strength of the community in supporting and helping each other. It can be through simple food hampers that are distributed through Community Brokers to those in need. It is simply incredible to see how every Thursday, a group of 30 volunteers from various walks of life and cultural background gathered under a single roof with a single goal that is to give back to the community that they are a part of."
"Collaborating with CSL students has greatly enhanced our work. Their involvement brings fresh ideas, innovative solutions, and a strong sense of enthusiasm to our initiatives. By working alongside us, they help us address challenges creatively, improve our programs, and expand our impact within the community. Their ability to approach problems with new perspectives and energy strengthens our capacity to serve and aligns seamlessly with our mission to empower individuals, foster youth engagement, and contribute to building vibrant, thriving communities."
"For many students, this might be their first opportunity to attend meetings and fulfill responsibilities beyond academic coursework. These experiences would contribute to their personal and professional growth, enhancing their understanding of collaboration and civic engagement."
