I am a proud member of the ATPE TWU chapter. I have been a member of this organization since Spring 2019 and have proudly served as secretary for one full semester. I was then appointed Chapter President in the Spring of 2021. My duties include taking minutes at monthly meeting, taking attendance at all meetings, distributing minutes, and working with the historian to keep organization’s records. My involvement in this organization demonstrates my ability to seek leadership roles and collaborate with members within the professional community. I have included a link to our chapters website located under the image to the left, where you can read more about me.
I was an active member of the Bilingual Education Student Organization, also known as BESO for two semesters. This photo was taken at the annual "Boo at the U" event, where I participated in distributing candy and goodies to children. This demonstrates my desire for community involvement.
On March 23, 2019, I attended the 53rd annual Rose Spicola Forum in Reading. I had the privilege of hearing Donalyn Miller and Teri Lesesne speak about the importance of incorporating different types of literature in the classroom. They also gave several book recommendations. Attending this forum and engaging with different resources, demonstrates my willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
