Article Summary: This article outlines how to submit an assignment to Safelite for glass-only damages. The windshield repair/replace guidelines are also attached at the bottom of this document. For damage to the Sunroof, use Snapsheet. If the host wants to use their own estimate for glass repair, compare it with a Safelite quote (which can be obtained on their website). If the host's estimate is within a reasonable range of the Safelite quote, we can pay this out.
Process:
Step 1: Select the 'Safelite Order From' email template in origami
Step 2: Review the information in the template and attach applicable damage photos
Step 3: Ensure that deductible amount is correct and review if OEM information is owed
Step 4: Send Email to the autofilled email “emailorders@safelite.com”
Step 5: Mark Host Status as ‘Sent to Vendor
Step 6: After two days, follow up with any questions to Safelite at 800-274-6275 or by using the ‘Safelite Update Request’ template. Use this template to request a copy of the invoice or an update if it has not yet been received.
Step 7: Once the Safelite invoice is completed, you will create a ‘Damage Payment Auth Request’ note with the total amount. Fill this out as a normal payment and redact any Host information if needed. (Note: Do not make a payment as Safelite will invoice Turo on the back end, this note is for TP to invoice the Guest for damages)
Step 8: Create task for TP for next day called “Invoice Guest - (Safelite)”
Step 9: Change Host status from ‘Sent to Vendor’ to “Closed: Paid and Covered” or ‘Paid and Covered: Deductible Excused’
Notes:
Within 24-48 hours of the assignment being submitted, Safelite will contact the owner to set up an appointment to perform the repairs/replacement.
An auto-populated task will be created called “Follow up on Safelite Invoice” set for 2 days to follow up
Once the job is completed, Safelite will email the invoice to claims+glass@turo.com and be added to your file.
