Warm greetings to parents, Year 12 VA students, TM students, and all TM staff.
May I also extend a special welcome to 76 schools from Indonesia and abroad, all members of the IBO International Community.
We are delighted to have everyone here!
Welcome to Year 12 Visual Arts Exhibition 2021 entitled “MagnificArts” with the theme of “Creativity Takes Courage” – this is a quote from the famous artist Henri Matisse (the greatest colourist from the early 20th century) meaning that as an artist, it takes courage to open our hearts to express ourselves to others in creative ways, thus being risk-takers and showing vulnerability. Today we are therefore very honoured to be invited to view the artwork of Year 12 DP cohort.
The DP Visual Arts Exhibition is a very important component of the course and students are required to compile a variety of art pieces using different genre, media and techniques over the 2 year-long DP journey.
This is an opportunity for students to explore the many facets of art and develop a deeper understanding of the impact that art can have on society and personal mood. It is also a vehicle through which students develop confidence, creativity and knowledge and skills as they explore the artistic world.
I look forward to seeing the work of our students and talking to them about their journey.
I would like to end my message by commending the students on reaching this special day. They have shown commitment and resilience in the face of the Covid19 pandemic and its struggles. A huge thank you to all and congratulations! J
May I also thank all parents for their support throughout the process. Be proud today! J
I would also like to extend my thanks to Mr. Aryo the Visual Arts teacher for his dedication in guiding and inspiring our students to develop a love of art, believe in themselves and reach their goal.
To Pak Hendra DP Coordinator, Ms. Liesta Associate DP Coordinator and all staff involved... Thank you for your contribution.
May this exhibition be an inspiration to us all.
