Every day, we’ll see people who seem happy with their lives. But the sad truth is, people wear a mask everyday to show happiness despite the problems they are actually facing. The facial expression and colors illustrates masks that people expose their self to the whole world. At the end of the day, we should learn to practice self-acceptance, loving ourselves, our true selves, so we don’t need to wear a mask because we feel comfortable and at peace with who we are.

As a woman with stretch marks on her thighs, I considered these as unattractive, ugly and horrible for the longest time. This artwork represents the beauty of stretch marks by proudly embracing it. Thus, it symbolizes body positivity by embracing the tiger stripes shown on the stomach. They remind us that we are human and that none is perfect. It makes ourselves unique so we all should embrace it and start loving and accepting ourselves.

People struggle with self love because they keep fighting who they are. It could be that they don't like their reflection in the mirror or where they are in life. The girl who is holding the measurement illustrates the struggle to accept her insecurity which is her weight. While, the writing on the mirror illustrates acceptance and happiness. This indicates that self love walks hand in hand with self-acceptance, to have one is to have the other. It's impossible to love yourself without accepting who you are because value doesn't lie in how your body looks.
