TRESTON INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE

Academic Track is designed to help students prepare for the subject specialization of the college course that they will take in the future. The academic track consists of courses that will make college life easier to adjust to in terms of subject variety and, to a certain degree, difficulty. There are four strands in this track to choose from namely: Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strand, General Academic Strand (GAS), Humanities and Social Science Strand (HUMSS), and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Strand.

Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strand

The Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand focuses on the basic concepts of financial management, business management, corporate operations, and all things that are accounted for. ABM would lead students to careers on management and accounting which could be sales manager, human resources, marketing director, project officer, bookkeeper, accounting clerk, internal auditor, and a lot more. Accountancy is the profession or practice of accounting. Also measurement, processing, and communication of financial information about economic entities. Business is an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial industrial or professional. Management is the coordination of the activities of a business in order to achieve desired objectives. ABM is a strand which students choose because they want to become a successful accountant or to become successful in business.

General Academic Strand (GAS)

General Academic Strand is for learners who are not yet decided on what course to take in college. It gives ways for the undecided students to think about their preferred degree in the future. It is a guide point in the lives of students to help them make up their mind with what they really want to be once they had entered the adult life.

Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS) Strand

This strand focuses on the study of human behavior and societal changes, and analysis of arts, culture, literature, and politics. It involves political science, anthropology, linguistics, psychology, and communication. The HUMMS strand is designed for those students who wonder what is on the other side of the wall. In other words, you are ready to take on the world and talk to a lot of people. This is for students who are considering taking up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other social science-related courses in college.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Strand

If building prototypes and robots, crunching numbers, analyzing the ways of life, and all things involving technology interest you then the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand is the right fit for you!

Through the STEM strand, students will get to learn the basics of STEM-related disciplines such as Calculus, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Students will get an overview of the foundation of most STEM fields which basically deal with several branches of physical, Earth and life sciences, and pure and applied mathematics.
