 Band Committee

The Band Committee is a sub-committee of the P&C that runs and maintains the Turramurra Public School Band Program. 

The Committee is a group of volunteer parents who are strong supporters of the Band Program and its many benefits.

Band information is distributed to parents predominantly by email, WhatsApp and the School newsletter.

Parent Volunteers

All parents must have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). This is a simple process via Services NSW: WWCC Application. We recommend obtaining your WWCC in advance so you are ready for all volunteering opportunities (including canteen and other school-related roles). 

Parents volunteering on Day One of Band Camp at TPS, or staying overnight at Band Camp, will also have to present at the School Office prior to the day for an ID check. This check only needs to be done once and lasts for the entire time your children are at TPS. If you have already volunteered at the school, you have probably already completed this process.

How you can help

• Attend band meetings to gain insight to the Band Program. Dates for the meetings will be in the Band News of the school newsletter.

• Join the Band Committee - we are always looking for people to join our friendly committee to continue the strength of the TPS Band Program

• Volunteer at Band Camp. All families are expected to volunteer for one shift per child in the program.

• Help with band performances or excursions eg setting up/packing up, supervision

• Motivate and support your children on their musical journey

• Encourage regular practise and attendance at all rehearsals and performances

• Attend performances and cheer on our bands!
