The main costs associated with the Band Program are:
Band Contributions: These are to be paid by all band families each year they are in the program. The contributions cover the costs for two band rehearsals per week, for the entire school year, and other expenses such as purchasing new music and entry into competitions and festivals. Note: Jazz Band students pay contributions for both Performance Band and Jazz Band, to cover the extra rehearsal each week.
Instrument Hire: Students can hire instruments from Turramurra Public School for at least their first year (see 'Instrument' page for more information). The hire fees are much lower than at music stores and all fees go towards repairing and replacing instruments. This cost only applies to families hiring their instrument.
Percussion usage fee: This helps to maintain/service current percussion equipment and purchase new instruments and accessories. This cost only applies to percussion players.
All fees are kept as low as possible and are reviewed each year.
Other costs associated with Band include:
Band Camp is a separate cost required early in Term 1 of approx. $300-350. It is to be paid by all band families.
Band Tour is also a separate cost required late Term 3 of approx. $200-280. This only applies to Performance Band members.
Private Tuition fees: Each family pays their tutor directly. Individual prices vary but are generally around $35-45+ per lesson (half an hour). The children may also need a tutorial book and other music for use in their private lessons.
Band Music: All Junior Band members are given a band folder, the cost is included in their Band Contributions. All other band music is provided at no cost. However, lost practice copies will incur a replacement fee of 50c per page.
Accounts are sent in Term 3. There is an earlybird discount of $10 for payments made before the due date.
Please pay accounts promptly to minimise the workload of our treasurer.

Families experiencing financial difficulties may apply for a one-off exemption of one child’s fees for one semester. Families can also pay in installments if arranged with the Band Treasurer. Applications for assistance are to be made through the Band Committee.
