Objectives
Toyo University, together with the University of Camerino (UNICAM), has been implementing a student training program since 2018. During these activities, participants, including faculty members, have gained knowledge about reconstruction and related issues of the 2016 earthquake in the "Chusankan-chi" area around Camerino. Meanwhile, the Center for Sustainable Development Studies (CeSDeS) at Toyo University has initiated a research project focused on well-being in the "Jouken furi-chi" this academic year, and the research includes communities in Italy. Taking the opportunity of Professor Lucia Ruggeri's visit, a Professor of Law at Camerino University, to Toyo University, the CeSDeS holds this workshop to discuss sustainability and well-being in "Chusankan-chi" and "Jouken furi-chi" in Italy and Japan—regions facing similar issues—to share and deepen academic knowledge and to explore future collaborations for joint research.
