Recap of what we learned last week:

Bible Study - We learned the story of Jesus Prepares the Way and Baptizes Jesus from Matthew 3:1-17.

Bible Words for the week: "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29

Central Truth: Jesus took our sin and punishment so that we receive His righteousness for eternal life.

Grade-Level Truth: Baptism is a special way in which we receive forgiveness and salvation in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

ELA - We continue to focus on letter names, letter sounds, and handwriting skills. We have made it through all the letters of the alphabet. Students are blending and reading not just words but phrases and short sentences. Students continued practicing that sometimes letter s tries to trick us by borrowing letter z's sound. Students also learned that 's helps us to know ownership and we learned that sometimes an s at the end of the word makes it mean more than one. Students have been working to read words with 4 and 5 letter sounds. We also continued working on our "pinch and tuck" pencil hold.

Math -We continued using our balance scales to compare items by weight. We learned that things of different sizes and shapes can have the same weight.

100th Day of School - On Monday we celebrated our 100th Day of Kindergarten. We shared projects, made crowns, and did lots of writing and math activities practicing and talking about 100. - Items will be on display at our Open House in February.
