Recap of what we learned April 15th - April 19th:

Bible Study - We learned the story of The Great Commission and Jesus' Ascension from Matthew 28:16-20 and Acts 1:1-11.

Bible Words for the week: "I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20

Central Truth: When He had completed His earthly work, Jesus returned to heaven, leaving His followers to carry out His mission.

Grade-Level Truth: Jesus wants us to tell people about His great love for them. He promises to take us to heaven to live with Him forever.

ELA - We reviewed the tricky words a, the, of, from, one, all and was. 

We also reviewed double letter words like 'll' in well, or 'ss' in grass.

We continued our Sam reader which has more sentences per page and practices all the reading skills we have learned so far. We also have comprehension questions to answer after reading to make sure we are reading to understand not just reading to read.

 We also learned and practiced how ck says the /k/ sound and is usually found at the end of a word. 

Math -We continued working on our pre addition skills. We worked on creating number bonds from pictures and word problems. We also learned about the math symbols "plus" and "equals" and used them to write number sentences. We learned we use the numbers from our number bond to write a number sentence.
