How can I support my child with their GCSE examinations?

We want our children to do well in exams and effective revision plays a crucial role. Whilst you can’t revise for your child, there are lots of ways you can help them. This ranges from checking what they know and helping them remember things, to providing the right homelife so that they can be at their most alert, healthy and resilient.

How can I help my child with their revision?

In the run up to exam time, sit down together with your child and work out the best times for revision. Make a revision timetable on a big piece of paper and pin it up somewhere prominent. When it comes to revision, research shows that little and often is better than overlong sessions. Cramming at the last minute is also counterproductive, so it’s best to start early and put in the groundwork while there is still time.

When are the next mock examinations?

The next mock examinations will take place after the February half term.

When are the final GCSE's?

The Joint Council for Qualifications l(JCQ) are consulting on the exam timetable for next summer, which seeks to maintain some of the space built into the exam timetable last year between the first and last exams in the same subject. This spacing reduces the chance of students missing all exams in a subject due to circumstances such as illness.  All examinations will take place in May and June 2023, please do not book any holidays until at least the 30th June 2023.

When will my child get their GCSE results?

GCSE results 2023 will be available across all exam boards next summer on the 24th August 2023.
