Pompey's Military Kids

Pompey’s Military Kids is a joint initiative set up by the Naval Families Federation (NFF) and Portsmouth City Council (PCC), working with representatives from various schools across the city. The Cluster Group supports Service children in a number of difference ways and local schools now share good ideas and best practice through collaborative working. Events and activities are organised by NFF and PCC which bring Service children together, to encourage them to interact, make new friends and support each other. This means that there is now a network of young people who are helping and supporting each other within the wider community.

Connecting Forces Group

The Connecting Forces Group consists of members of staff with military connections, including military wives, children of Service Personnel, and ex-service personnel. Our aim is to provide all Service Pupils with a friendly support system during times of deployment, weekending and military life.

What we do:

  • We meet every Tuesday from 3pm until 4pm at the top of the LRC.

  • Our current project involves designing and creating Flags of Thanks in conjunction with the Sewing Soldier.

  • We also work closely with the Company of Makers creating bunting out of military uniforms.

  • A recently completed project saw the group creating painted pebbles for the D-Day Remembrance in Portsmouth.

Future Projects:

  • HMS Temeraire sports day.

  • Sailing with the Boleh Trust.

  • Visit to a Type 23 Frigate.

For any enquiries about the group, please feel free to contact Mrs C Mason by email.
