Library

Want books?

We have them.

The Learning Resource Centre here at Miltoncross covers two floors and has a large stock of various Fiction and Non-Fiction books for you to browse and borrow.

With nine desktop computers, eight iPads, printing facilities and comfy chairs, the L.R.C. is the perfect environment to catch up on work, do some research or just chill out at break time with your favourite book.

If you need help with your homework or just want to use the L.R.C. after school, we run homework club every day until 4pm.

Accelerated Reader

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 all use Accelerated Reader as part of their Reading lessons.  Passing quizzes on Accelerated Reader is a great way for students to earn achievement points and contribute words to their House total. Points mean prizes!

Students who like a challenge can push themselves to earn one of our Star Reader badges that they can proudly show off on their blazer lapel.

Use the button to the left to find your next read and and the button bellow to take quizzes on them once you've finished!.

eBooks and Audiobooks

All students at Miltoncross Academy have access to an extensive collection of eBooks and Audiobooks that can be borrowed using school computers or using home devices such as laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

To browse the platform please use the button to the left.

Instructions on how to navigate the Eplatform are below.

Student User information can be obtained by using the Miltoncross Academy Online Service or by contacting the Librarian directly.

Miltoncross Academy Reading Canon

The books in our canon have been chosen to celebrate diversity, challenge discrimination and promote thinking.

Above all, the books are chosen because they are great books which support a love of reading.

During your time at Miltoncross, we challenge you to read all 50 books from the canon, passing an AR Quiz for each text.

For each milestone you reach, you will receive a pin where you can identify others in the school who have also read the books so you can discuss and share thoughts and ideas.
