Word Tabernacle Church
We are not a religious preschool
The Impact Academy is an entity of Word Tabernacle Church but it does not function as Word Tabernacle Church. Our model is developed to reach all students and families. We have opted out of being a religious school for a few reasons.
We want to be a space where all families feel comfortable regardless of religious affiliation. We emphasis educational function to ensure an inclusive environment for all students, staff, and families.
We also want to ensure access to the program to all families. There are many families in our region who rely on social support through the state's voucher system, early childhood tax credits, and other things. These programs cannot be utilized at religious preschools.
Standard compliance: The governing entities and organizations that oversee childcare centers have rating scales. We work to abide by the highest rating scales for them so we use the state approved curriculums based on their expert standards.
Being a Christian is not a mandate for employees. Individuals have their own journeys of faith. We did not want to force people who are not Christians to teach content with which they disagree and we believe faith-based education should be taught by those who have faith-based conviction for the content.
We believe families are the primary mode of discipleship and ministries and church involvement are an amazing supplement to Christian education. After studying many Christian preschool programs, we believe the percentage of time spent on religious content is beneficial, but not so much as to disregard the first four points above. The preschool does not reject faith, we simply don't set aside a specific time to teach it. Instead, we encourage families and churches to take on that task as instructed in Scripture.

WORD TABERNACLE CHURCH
WORD TABERNACLE CHURCH STRIVES TO BE...
“A place of relevant ministry where relationships are built, needs are met, purpose is fulfilled and God is enjoyed”. Our foresight is to be that of an Impact Center. We recognize it is not about us. God can never fully bless us until we take our eyes off ourselves and begin to place them upon God, His kingdom and other people.
OUR MISSION
Reaching our community and beyond with the good news that Jesus saves (Luke 15, 19:10)
Teaching believers through the Bible how to love God and love their neighbors as themselves (Col. 1:28; Matthew 22:37-40)
Sending those believers back out into the world to share with others the story of how Jesus saved them (Rom. 10:13-15; Acts 1:8)
Simply put we are called to preach the gospel; to teach people to live Christ-like; to practice love; to give priority to prayer; to increase in the wisdom and favor of God; to fulfill purpose and to enjoy God.

THE IMPACT CENTER
The Impact Center is both an organization and a collaborative of service providers. Our philosophy is in belief that a holistic environment is the best shaper of people’s lives. TIC offers a community-wide transformation of human, economic, and community development with evidenced-based practices to support the shared goals of a thriving community by:
Building a comprehensive cradle to career solution for each individual within the community
Integrating programs and breaking down agency “silos” so that solutions are implemented across agencies
Developing a local infrastructure and capacity of institutions across the region.
The Impact Center (TIC) exists to provide the places, partnerships, programs, and paradigms that enable people to progress.
Our goal is to produce citizens who are critical thinkers, capable learners, and community contributors who commit to long-lasting, life-changing behaviors. This is accomplished by placing emphasis on spiritual, social, and scholastic vitality as the drivers of economic vitality. These outcomes are measured in part by high school graduation rates, parental involvement, employment skills, and decreased childhood obesity. TIC seeks to address the issues of disconnected development, single parenting, increased drug and alcohol use amongst youth, childhood obesity, health disparities, education disparities, an unprepared workforce, and adverse generational lifestyle choices placing emphasis on spiritual, social, and scholastic.
We support colleges, the community college system, workforce development boards, and large employers with a greater flexibility in the creation of a skilled workforce, access to the individuals most in need of skills development and employment, and partnerships for specialized institutes and internships.
