My Philosophy on teaching and learning may be similar to others and to some it may be different. I believe that not all children learn the same or on the same level. I also feel that all children should have the opportunity to learn no matter their abilities or their disabilities. I feel that teachers should know their classroom and find ways to teach their class. I believe that each year, each class brings on new students. Teachers should expect each child to come in and do their best. Teachers should create an environment where children want to come to class. Your classroom should have an inviting atmosphere.
My philosophy on teams is that it takes a team to make things come together. Without a team or people pulling together to get things done then a lot of things may go lacking. It’s always good to have everyone pulling their part during the day for the sake of the children. Fitting into teams, you play your role and do what you can to help others out.
Without families there would be no children. So therefore I believe that having families present and involved is a must. When families see their children happy and learning and growing they’ll be in their happy place. Families want to feel and know that their little one is being taking care of in every possible way. Showing respect and being polite to families are important to me as well. Keeping them in the loop and informed about events that’s going on in the center is a must for me. Having parents volunteer at the school or donate needed arts and crafts are a great way of keeping them involved. Communication is key all the way around and is an important factor when it comes down to children.
Professional development is important to me because I feel that everyone should always strive to be better not perfect but better. I feel that no one person is perfect and should always work harder. We as educators should always set aside time for trainings and workshops to become better teachers and gain more knowledge in the childcare field. Each teacher should have short term goals as well as long term goals for themselves and their students. Having an opened mind
and opened heart will help you broaden your horizons. When you learn new things you tend to feel good about yourself. Trainings, workshops, and talking to other teachers and getting advice will help you as well.
In conclusion, my philosophy on these things may be different and similar to other educators but we all should be willing to get out of our comfort zone and explore new opportunities in life and learn to trust the process in which God will lead us all to.
