History can so often be seen as a series of unfortunate events. We spend a lot of time learning about wars, revolutions, and disease, but spend far too little time on uplifting moments and people. For our end of the year project, groups chose recent historical events that are more positive to dive into and create newspapers about. This also allowed the students to further expand on their quarter project goal of undersanding how words have power. They researched each event and presented it as breaking news to the class.
