WILDCAT WEEKLY

VOLUME 3  ISSUE 8

September 15, 2023

From the Office

Thank you YMLA families for your support of our first Thursday Night Lights of the 2023-2024 school year!  We will continue to monitor scholars' grades and hold them accountable for zeros through our Thursday Night Lights.  You can support your scholar by checking Parent Portal weekly for missing assignments and following up with your scholar's teachers as needed.  With this proactive support, we look forward to scholars staying on track with grades all year.

On Thursday, September 28th, we will be hosting our first Family Engagement Night of the year from 6:00-7:30.  In addition to picking up a hard copy of your scholar's report card, there will be opportunities to interact with various members of the Dream Team to gather resources, information, and support related to your individual scholar.  For example, if you have a middle school scholar you may want to visit with Ms. White to pick up your scholar's Confidential Student Report with STAAR results from the 2023 school year.  A family with a freshmen, would also benefit from visiting with Mrs. Cleveland, our Freshmen Success Coach while a family with a senior will be encouraged to see Mr. Elems to attend a session about financial literacy and preparing for the expenses of college.  We are a small, but diverse campus and our goal is to meet the unique needs for each individual scholar and family.

RESOURCES

Bring a camera or a camera phone. We will take pictures, learn techniques in post processing, and create a school-wide webpage of our art. Email for more information!

Self-choice reading is the empowerment of the scholar to find out more about who they are and who they want to be. Choose a book. Read it. Share it. We will have discussions, create book trailers, and share our love of literature with each other.

This webpage is not searchable. You will not find it without the address. Photos of school activities, information about other libraries, access to databases and more. This is your information hotline for the library!
