My week at leadership camp might just be the best week of my life and the most fun time I’ve had in years. The support given by all the JC’s AL’s, BLT’s and counsellors was unbelievable and so comforting. It’s my wish that everyone will come to camp when given the opportunity as it is truly life altering in the best way. Prior to camp, I was extremely shy and not confident at all, I never really interacted with anyone who wasn’t a close friend, but it’s amazing how much personal growth I went through in such a short period of time. I feel so much more open and confident, and during camp I was the happiest I’ve ever felt.
Going in to camp, i wasn’t sure if I would have fun or make friends. Even though I didn’t know anyone beforehand, I had a great time and bonded well with my colour group. The food was delicious, the activities were fun, and the overall vibe was great. I also felt that my counsellors really encouraged me and made me feel happy and more confident.
It is an amazing experience filled with opportunities to learn more about yourself and others around you, truly a real life cliché. When I say camp was a 10/10 it is only because there was no option for 11.
Camp has become the highlight of my year. The opportunity to connect with nature, make new friends, and challenge myself in a supportive environment has been invaluable. I've grown so much through the experiences and adventures it offers. Supporting this program means ensuring that others can have the same incredible journey. Let's keep the spirit of camp alive for everyone who needs it.
Camp was one of the best experiences of my high school career so far! It felt like by the end of the week, our colour group was supporting and encouraging each other genuinely and the counsellors were so kind and really made the effort to connect with each and every one of us. If you’re looking for a sign to attend leadership camp, this is it!
Camp is the best place to be if you want to be encouraged to step out of your comfort zone and be supported the whole way through! At camp I always felt heard and loved by anyone I talked to. I felt like siblings to my colour group as well as the other colours in friendly competitions! The Manitou staff, teachers, BLTs, ALs, JCs and counsellors made everyone feel welcomed and meant to be there. Camp is not something to miss out on!
Camp was probably my favourite highschool experience yet, I had an amazing time meeting new people and getting close with everyone.
