Research is a large part of many of the humanities courses being offered at CALC from History, English and Social Sciences. The first place you want to access is the 'Information Literacy' area by going into the Virtual Library Site and clicking on the red button on the homepage.
While there is a lot of information on research steps (click on the green booklet called 'Research Success 2017'), my favourite research site happens to be 'Google Scholar' - a popular choice that is used in both College and University and provide you with some really strong secondary sources via popular journals and even Google Books.
The University of Toronto Research Guide is a good place to start! It teaches you about why we cite and what common knowledge is.
Use Owl Purdue for citation questions both 'Works Cited' or 'References', in-text citations, front page formats and all essay related questions.

Remember, any information that comes from an online source (that includes AI people!) needs to be cited on your assignment or else it can be considered 'cheating' or 'plagarism'. There are many forms of plagiarism as seen below:
Here is a video on Plagarism:
Some simple techniques to not plagiarize is to make sure that you write the words, sentences or phrases correctly into your assignment through the use of paraphrase, direct quote and in-text citation.
Remember, even videos, images and information on your teacher's lesson or worksheet needs to be cited because that knowledge and information is NOT yours!
AI tools seem to be attached to everything - so make sure that ALL editing tools (grammarly) and AI tools are off of your web browser or phone - especially if you have it as an added browser extension.
