Use the green icon called 'Content' to view information on Units, Assignments, Discussion Posts and lessons.
Every teacher will organize things differently, so ensure to check the home-page for annoucements and links.
The calendar tool, discussion button area, quizzes and even assignments will be a constant reminder of when things are due.
There will be MANY times where you can access a document or powerpoint that is using 'Google Slides or Google Docs' and you may 'request access' - DON'T DO THAT!
Most teachers will NOT give you access to the document to edit and type on because that is their original copy.
To make your own follow the steps here:
Step 1: Go to the document that has been attached for you to view
Step 2: Go to the button on the top left called 'File'
Step 3: Go to the button 'Make a copy'
Step 4: You will see a pop-up that asks you to make a copy - do not keep the title as is - change it to something that you will remember such as: Last Name, First Name: NBE3C Perceptions Poster'
Step 5: Choose the file that you want to save the assignment into so it doesn't get lost amongst all the other files in your drive
Step 6: Click the blue button at the bottom right that says 'Make a Copy' and you are good to go!
SUBMITTING & SHARING THE DOCUMENT PROTOCOL
When it is time for you to attach the document into 'Brightspace' use the function 'Add a File' and then 'Google Drive' instead of saving the document or transferring it into a pdf. Click on 'Google Drive' and search up your document by the title that you saved it as: (i.e Last Name, First Name: NBE3C Perceptions Poster')
If your teacher has asked you to share access with them ensure that you go back into your document and click the 'Share' button in blue on the top right.
You're teacher may ask that you share it with them through email - in that case add their email in the box and click enter to save OR they may ask for a link.
Make sure to change the setting in 'General Access' to TDSB - and 'Viewer' and THEN click 'copy link'.
Take that 'copied link' and attach it to the comments section before submitting your assignment.
