AP Calculus

AP Calculus is designed to give students a good understanding of calculus concepts and provide experience with methods and applications so that they are prepared for university. The main emphasis of the course is to focus on the students’ ability to understand the fact that functions can be represented in multiple ways, including graphically, numerically, analytically, and verbally. The course covers topics such as derivatives, integrals, limits, and approximation, as well as applications and modeling as a collective and related theme. AP Calculus AB is roughly equivalent to a first semester university calculus course devoted to topics in differential and integral calculus. It is strongly recommended that students taking this course have a minimum mark of 85% or better in GRADE 12 AP Advanced Functions.
