STANDARD 5
Leaders ensure that all stakeholders have ongoing opportunities to access information and learn about STEM implementation.
At the Munford Elementary School Annual Title I Parent Meeting, parents and guardians gathered to gain a deeper understanding of the Title I program's significance in enhancing our students' education. They learned about the program's goals and how the additional federal funding we receive supports academic achievement. The meeting featured informative presentations that highlighted the ways Title I resources are allocated to benefit students, including additional instructional support and resources for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education. During the Parent Volunteer Orientation, attendees explored the numerous volunteer opportunities available, from assisting in STEAM-related projects to organizing school events. They discovered how their involvement could contribute to a thriving educational community. Parents and guardians received guidance on the application process for becoming volunteers, ensuring a seamless transition into active roles within the school. The event concluded with a sense of enthusiasm and commitment, as parents and guardians left with a clear understanding of their role in supporting Munford Elementary School's mission to provide exceptional STEAM education and a strong foundation for our students' futures.
Coffee and Collaboration
Coffee and Collaboration is a special event at Munford Elementary School. Coffee and Collaboration allows Munford Elementary stakeholders, parents, and community members to give feedback about STEAM instruction at our school. In this collaborative meeting, stakeholders learn about progress made towards our goals. In addition, they are provided with the opportunity to give reflections and feedback about the next steps to improve STEAM instruction for our students.
At Munford Elementary School, students and parents recieve a monthly calendar denoting all of the family events and school opportunities! In addition to being sent home, the calendar is available on our school social media sites, as well as our school website.
Check out our Coaches' Corner for continuous Professional Development and Support from our Technology, Math, and Reading Coaches!
No Missed Opportunities
To ensure that every student has access to STEAM lessons, even when the STEAM teacher is absent, teachers are presented with a virtual recording of a STEAM lesson so that students can still participate! In November, 5th Grade students greatly enjoyed creating Origami Turkeys with their virtual STEAM lesson for the month.
Continuous Improvement Plan
A Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) in education is a systematic and data-driven process used by educational institutions to enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and overall school performance. This process involves ongoing self-assessment and reflection to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them. Continuous improvement in education involves gathering feedback from various stakeholders, including teachers, students, parents, and community members. Their input helps shape the improvement efforts.
