Let's go over your summer assignment:
When you explain any characteristic of a book (characters, setting, theme), you need to find evidence in the book to support it.
Let's work with one section of the graphic organizer and see an example together:
Thoughts: Wonders why Sal is avoiding her.
Evidence: She says, “It was like Sal had shut a door between us and nothing I said or did could make him open it again.”
Feelings: Confused and lonely without her best friend.
Evidence: She admits feeling “invisible” when Sal ignores her.
Feelings: Curious and unsettled about the mysterious notes.
Evidence: After receiving the first note, she writes, “It scared me. But it was also kind of exciting, like a game.”
Revise your work and see how you can improve it.
