In order to investigate the opinion of the general public on the current “circular economy,” a questionnaire survey was conducted for testing. After the questionnaire survey was completed, the statistical analysis was performed on the data as reference for this study. In terms of distribution of the questionnaire, we utilized the leisure time on Wednesday afternoon to distribute questionnaires at MRT station and stores around the school. In addition, we also invited our parents to help distribute the questionnaires to colleagues, neighbors, relatives, etc. A total of 120 questionnaires were distributed, and a total of 120 questionnaires were returned, with a return rate of 100%. 5 of the questionnaires were apparently not completed seriously, and thus were invalid. After the statistical analysis was performed, there were 115 valid questionnaires. The statistical graphs and analyses are as follows.
Asking people to fill out questionnaires on the street.
Asking the store owner to fill out the questionnaire.

Questionnaire Analysis

Analysis: As shown in the statistics, the majority of general public usually do a good job in garbage classification and resource recycling. The reason may be that in recent years, the awareness of environmental protection of general public has increased. In addition, general public have developed good environmental protection habits and they usually do a good job in garbage classification and resource recycling, which facilitates the full reutilization of wastes and reduces waste.
2. When I go out, I prepare an eco-friendly cup or a container for water.
Analysis: As shown in the statistics, approximately half of the general public prepare an eco-friendly cup or a container for water when they go out. The reason may be that the awareness of environmental protection of general public has increased in recent years. Some people bring their own eco-friendly cup or container for water, so that the eco-friendly cup or container can be reused to avoid wasting resources. However, there are still nearly half of the people who have not developed the habit of bringing their own eco-friendly cups or containers, suggesting that there is still room for improvements to fully implement environmental protection.

8. The government should offer incentives to encourage manufacturers to use waste to develop “circular economy” products.
Analysis: According to the statistics, the majority of general public believe that the government should offer incentives to encourage manufacturers to use waste to develop “circular economy” products. The reason may be that in recent years, global warming and ecological environment pollution have become increasingly severe, making many companies think about their social responsibilities, and an increasing number of companies are investing in research and development, trying to use waste resources as raw materials to make products, and hoping to make products based on the concept of circular economy from the source, suggesting that there is still room for the government to encourage manufacturers to engage in the R&D of “circular economy” products.

Analysis: According to the statistics, most of the general public believes that the government should offer incentives to encourage hypermarkets to increase the sale of “circular economy” products and obtain “green store” certification. The reason may be that in recent years, global warming and ecological environment pollution have become increasingly severe. Creating sustainable development and zero-waste green commodities has gradually become a social consensus. Therefore, the general public hope to see more green products in “green stores” to enable them to have more choices, suggesting that the government still has room for improvements in promoting the sales of “circular economy” products in hypermarkets.
10. The government should offer incentives to promote green consumption and encourage consumers to purchase “circular economy” products.
Analysis: According to the statistics, the majority of the general public believe that the government should offer incentives to promote green consumption and encourage consumers to purchase “circular economy” products. The reason may be that global warming and ecological environment pollutions are becoming more and more serious, and consumers are more and more willing to purchase products that have less impact on the environment. However, products that are usually featured by “circular economy” often are expensive and are not popularized. Currently, the government’s subsidy policy is urgently required to reduce the cost of products and make “green consumption” gradually become the preferred choice for Taiwanese shopping, suggesting that the government still has room for improvements in promoting green consumption and purchasing “circular economy” products.
Afterthoughts
After every team member worked together to complete the questionnaire survey, our teacher told us that the next job was to arrange and statistically analyze the collected questionnaire data. At the beginning, we totally had no idea how to proceed. Fortunately, thanks to the teacher's careful guidance and assistance, it took us several days to complete the entire questionnaire analysis. During the process of distributing questionnaires to the public and sorting out the completed questionnaires, we found that everyone has a considerable understanding of green consumption, energy conservation, environmental protection, and green products, and can also implement energy conservation and environmental protection in their daily lives.
The results of the questionnaire show that with the increasingly serious ecological environment problems, people are paying more attention to environmental protection and energy conservation. However, they do not have a clear understanding of the connotation of circular economy. As a result, we believe that the government should make better use of schools, the Internet, and the media to proactively promote the connotation and advantages of circular economy to enable everyone to further understand the importance of circular economy, as well as strengthen the promotion of circular economy products. Moreover, we also hope that the government can use rewards and subsidies to assist manufacturers in developing circular economy products and encourage consumers to buy circular economy products with preferential prices, so that circular economy products can be recognized by everyone. Lastly, we hope that everyone can implement green consumption and environmental protection in their lives to reduce environmental pollution, recycle wastes, and achieve sustainable development of the earth.
