Q1. What is the original purpose of establishment of Da.Ai Technology?
Answer:Founded in 2008, Da.Ai Technology is the first environmental protection public welfare enterprise in Taiwan. Da.Ai Technology upholds the concept of “coexistence with the earth” and is committed to the development of environmental protection technology for the recycling of PET bottles. It hopes to become a pioneer in attracting more people who are willing to invest in environmental protection and fulfill corporate social responsibility. Da.Ai Technology mainly produces recycled textile raw materials, which will be made into environmentally friendly recycled products in people’s daily life. The environmentally friendly manufacturing process has passed the certification of the Control Union Global Recycle Standard (CU GRS). From the acquisition of raw materials to the supply chain application at all stages, Da.Ai Technology meets all the recycling certification standards.
In addition, Da.Ai’s environmentally friendly recycled products have also been certified by the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan “Green Environmental Protection Label.” The green/gray eco-friendly blanket woven from 100% recycled fibers has also passed “TUV Rheinland and Environmental Protection Administration carbon label double certification.” Currently, Da.Ai Technology is cooperating with Tzu Chi at approximately 8,626 environmental protection recycling stations in Taiwan. Nearly 200,000 environmental volunteers recycle nearly 2,000 metric tons of drinking water PET bottles every year. Recycled plastic bottles are carefully sorted to increase the yield rate of semi-finished products, reduce water and energy consumption in the manufacturing process, and implement the environmental protection concept of increasing revenue, reducing expenditure, saving energy and reducing carbon. Da.Ai Technology intends to use the results of everyone’s contributions to give back to domestic and foreign disaster relief and social welfare.
Q2. What are the environmental protection products developed by Da.Ai Technology using recycled materials?
Answer:With the progress and maturity of environmental recycling technology, “Da.Ai Technology” has recycled a large amount of plastic products, developed environmentally friendly recycled fabric technology and launched blankets, scarves, clothing, storage boxes/bags and other environmentally friendly recycled products. Da.Ai Technology even converts waste plastic bottles into furniture and various daily necessities for people to wear and use.
Q3. Please briefly describe how Da.Ai Technology uses environmentally friendly products for charity?
Answer:When Da.Ai Technology was first established, the founder donated all the shares to the “Tzu Chi Foundation” for disaster relief and charity at home and abroad. Therefore, as long as a disaster occurs at home and abroad, “Tzu Chi Foundation” will arrive at the disaster scene as soon as possible and provide global disaster relief and humanitarian aid with the environmentally friendly blankets we made. Moreover, Tzu Chi Foundation will also provide environmentally friendly blankets to the disadvantaged groups in the society, and hundreds of thousands of blankets are distributed to those in need every year.
Q4. How does Da.Ai Technology develop environmentally friendly products with manufacturers in the form of cooperative alliances?
Answer:Tzu Chi Foundation collects PET bottles from environmental protection recycling stations and remanufactures PET bottles into various daily necessities through the use of professional techniques and technology provided by upstream/midstream /downstream partners in the textile industry. Over the past few years, Da.Ai Technology has continuously made efforts to communicate with manufacturers, conduct experiments and improve technology. At present, textile products made of PET bottles offer many functions such as improving perspiration, keeping warmth, deodorizing, offering anti-static feature, etc., and have won the first silver certification of “Cradle to Cradle” among recycled textiles in Asia. Moreover, such products have also been certified to reduce the carbon footprint and water footprint, minimizing the damage to the environment.
Furthermore, Da.Ai Technology has also noticed the impact of natural disasters caused by global climate change and thus cooperated with manufacturers to develop “Da.Ai Technology” products. Products developed include puncture-resistant insoles, gloves, sunglasses and even solar hats, which all have become “disaster prevention treasures” for disaster relief volunteers. The recycling and remanufacturing abilities demonstrated by Da.Ai Technology have not only achieved outstanding performance in international design awards, but also attracted world-renowned international manufacturers to seek cooperation opportunities.
Q5. Is there any plan to expand the recycling of other wastes in the future and continue to develop new environmentally friendly products?
Answer:In recent years, the awareness of environmental protection and sustainability has risen, and the global science and technology communities have begun to emphasize environmental protection. More and more companies are paying attention to energy-saving and carbon-reducing technology and environmentally friendly products made of recycled materials, such as electric vehicles, environmentally friendly laptops, solar panels, energy-saving home appliances and other environmentally friendly new technologies, and are jointly promoting the development goal of sustainable environmental protection. Currently, Da.Ai Technology is using recycled wastes to develop innovative and environmentally friendly products with innovative technology. The use of common plastic wastes in daily life, such as plastic containers, plastic shells, plastic bags or Styrofoam, etc. will be expanded to produce environmentally friendly cleaning bags, home appliances, consumser electronics and other sustainable products. Moreover, these products can always be recycled and reused. Hopefully, we can contribute to the ecological environment of the earth with the most advanced environmental protection technology!
